Other Ministries

WOMEN ON MISSION

Women On Mission is designed to provide study, training and "hands on" mission opportunities. This organization provides for Mission Friends (preschoolers), Girls In Action (girls in 1st - 6th grade) and Youth On Mission (boys & girls 7th - 12th grade) each week. Ladies in our church can choose from several different mission and prayer groups, including a Ladies' Morning Group. During the summer girls have opportunity to attend GA Camp or Mother-Daughter Camp at Camp La Vida. The W.O.M. leads our church family in studying and giving to our South Carolina State Missions, the North American Missions, and the International Missions.

MEN'S MINISTRY

The Men's Ministry is designed to provide mission study and application for boys and men. This organization provides for Royal Ambassadors and Baptist Men. The Royal Ambassadors are divided into two groups: Lads (boys 1st - 3rd grade) and Crusaders (boys 4th - 6th grade). The Youth On Mission (boys & girls 7th - 12th grade) work together on missions studies and missions related projects. The RA's participate in the Lottie Moon Pinewood Derby each December, the RA Race Day at Darlington Raceway, Camp McCall each summer and other exciting events. The Baptist Men meet regularly for a time of prayer, fellowship and special mission projects.

MUSIC MINISTRY

The Music Ministry of our church offers many opportunities to express our praises to God. Instrumentalists, soloists and special music groups are always encouraged to share through the gift of music. The children's choir is lead by talented church members and practice on Sunday evening, with regular choral presentations. Our worship choir holds regular practice and leads in worship on Sunday mornings. Musical cantata programs, usually with combined choirs and a touch of drama, are presented at Christmas and Easter. If you enjoy singing, we have a place for you. Come worship with us.

PRAYER MINISTRY

We believe God answers prayer. Men's prayer group meets on Tuesday mornings at 6:10 a.m., and women's prayer group meets on Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Everyone wishing to join groups in prayer and meditation is welcome.

The Lakewood Prayer Chain consist of almost 30 members who pass along prayer requests, and take time out to pray for each request individually. If you have a prayer request or need for which you would like us to pray, please let us know by filling out a prayer request card or by calling the church office.

SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

The Senior Adult Ministry is active in many areas within our church. Plans for special trips, conventions and fellowship opportunities are coordinated by our Senior Adult Committee. Frequent trips are taken to favorite shopping location, exciting events, and interesting places, within a day's travel of Rock Hill. An annual trip to enjoy the mountain's fall foliage is always a favorite. Regular educational and entertaining programs provided a spiritually fulfilling fellowship for all who attend.
